River Poker Study: Heads-Up Chip EV and Authored Practice

TryBluff supports heads-up river chip-EV study with your own assumptions, account-saved setups and completed studies, plus exactly two reviewed authored river exercises with fixed continuation assumptions. This page explains the released scope before you enter the signed-in workspace.

Start with an explicit river decision

Supply the complete board, holding, weighted ranges, pot, effective stacks and supported legal bet sizes in the custom river workspace. The result describes the game you specified. An implausible range or missing legal size can change the answer; a numerical result does not validate your assumptions about a real opponent.

Named setups and completed studies can be saved to your account. Browser recovery drafts are separate and can be imported. Opening a saved setup does not automatically start a solve; reopening a completed study uses its existing job. Custom-study Coach handoff is available for discussing the result, with explicit credit confirmation for explanations.

Study reveal and Practice are different

The river library is a metadata catalogue. Browsing does not reveal the answer or record Study exposure. Choosing Study reveal exposes the answer. Practice links pin the selected published version so the exercise and its assumptions remain identifiable.

The initial released catalogue is exactly two reviewed authored river exercises with fixed continuation assumptions. Practice is limited to those models; this is not an expanded preflop-to-river training library. Exposure and Review classification persist per account and scenario equivalence. Legacy history is conservatively treated as Review rather than definitely unseen.

Learning exposure and numerical quality describe different things. A Review label records prior exposure; it is not a quality grade. Practice awards no credits, XP, streak or leaderboard rewards.

What the river model does not cover

Earlier streets, rake, multiway pots, tournament prize EV/ICM and bounties are outside scope. Preflop charts, bookmarks UI, grounded library Coach, batch execution and expanded models are unavailable. Local finite-model correctness checks do not establish universal correctness, measured performance or hosted capacity.

For a river call, first verify the price with the pot odds calculator, then test a specified holding or range with the equity calculator. For tournament prize equity, use the separate ICM calculator and include all remaining stacks and payouts; chip-EV results cannot answer that question.

Access and usage

Registration is open. The study workspace requires signed-in account access; native solves remain free subject to admission quotas. Account eligibility and current availability are shown at the destination. Explanations require credit confirmation, and text AI use has credits and rate limits. New paid checkout remains paused.

How does this differ from AI coaching?

Text coaching discusses a decision and can help identify assumptions to test. It is not itself solver-certified output. A river study computes a supported finite model from explicit inputs; it does not recover an opponent's true range or solve the full game. Read the worked AI hand review and GTO concepts guide.
