Most players only bet for value. There's a second reason: protection.
- 💰 Value bet: you bet because worse hands call.
- 🛡️ Protection bet: you have the best hand right now, but many hands behind you have live outs. Betting makes them pay to draw — or fold and surrender that equity.

- Wet boards — flush draws, straight draws, two-tone, connected
